The Faith of Jesus
The Faith of Jesus - Lesson 04
The faith of Jesus
What the Bible teaches about the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus promises to return
1. What wonderful promise did Jesus make? (John14:1-3)
Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 in my father’s house there are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.
2. How must we consider this promise? (Titus 2:13)
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearance of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
How will Jesus come?
3. In what form will Jesus return? (Matthew 24:30)
And then appear the sign of the son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
4. How many will see this glorious advent? (Revelation1:7)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindred of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so. Amen.
Why will Jesus come?
5. What is the objective of the coming of Jesus? (Matthew 16:27)
For the son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
6. What will happen with the righteous that are dead? (1Thessalonians 4:13-16)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch-angel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
7. What will happen with all the righteous in Christ? (1Thessalonians 4:17)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
What should I do?
8. Love the coming of Jesus (2 Timothy 4:8)
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9. Prepare myself to be ready (1John 3:2-3)
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
10. Help preach the Gospel. (Matthew 24:14)
And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
11. Love God with all my heart (Matthew 22:37)
37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
I believe in the second coming of Christ. I want to prepare myself to be with him in heaven.
